Fashion and Costume Designer

I’m Emily Baul, a costume and fashion designer from Covington, Louisiana. I’ve just graduated from Louisiana State University in Textile Science, Apparel Design, and Merchandising, with a focus in Apparel Design in May 2026. I have experience in sewing, draping, pattern making, tech pack creation, couture embellishment techniques, trend forecasting, visual merchandising, textile science, Clo3D, CAD, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.

I have been trained in vast styles of dance since the age of two including the Russian Vaganova Ballet method, Pointe, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Acro, Heels, Modern, Fosse style, and Musical Theatre. I’ve gone to Summer Intenstive Programs at the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) in New York City and Alabama, and New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA) in New Orleans, and was accepted into the Summer Intensive Programs at the Bolshoi Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, and Joffery Ballet. I transitioned into the world of competitive dance for 5 years where I would help rhinestone and alter my costumes.

My background in dance has taught me incredible discipline, time management, and a thirst for excellence and growth, which I want to apply to the creation and styling of costumes for film/theater/music/dance. I also believe that my experience as a dancer helps in designing and understanding the necessary functionality of performance garments. When I’m not designing and sewing you can find me binge watching 90’s tv, doing yoga, hanging out with my cat, or learning new languages!
