Trend Forecasting Projects and Mood Boards 

This is another trend forecasting assignment where we had to create a color forecast from the 2025 Spring/Summer shows. I wanted to highlight how many vibrant colors have been taken and dulled to be more palatable and tangible for the masses. The “ripened tomatoes”and “cloudless sky” are used as pops of color rather than focal points, making it seem like its a colorful collection, when it can still be removed.

This trend forecasting assignment was to find a retro trend and compare it to the modern resurgence. I chose baggy clothing and how it relates to music of the time. In the 90’s music introduced so many new artists like TLC and Kurt Cobain, which sparked inspiration for a whole generation. Black hip hop artists are to credit for this baggy style because it was their streetwear and workwear that would be shown in their music videos which inspired people to dress like them. This trickled across to other artists, and trickled down to fans creating a trend amonst 90’s fashion that is still aparent today. You can trace the modern resurgence of baggy clothes to the COVID-19 pandemic and the the rise of Billie Eilish.
